Make way for more goat news from the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology! Nana’s pregnancy is moving along well and is still expected to give birth in late May to early June. With the exciting news of a baby goat on the way, we’d like to share some information about Nana as well as fun and interesting facts about goats!

Nana is a four-year-old Nigerian Dwarf goat that came to Bel-Rea in the summer of 2018 from a woman who raises and breeds dairy goats. Nigerian dwarves are a breed of dairy goat and are said to make good companions due to their loving and gentle nature. Nana definitely fits this breed characteristic as she will greet anyone who visits the goat pen! She enjoys attention and scratches!
