Pre-Clinical Surgical Rotations
Matthew Ballantine – AAS, CVT, instructs students during their Pre-Clinical Surgical Rotations. Matthew was born in Iowa and raised around the campus of Iowa State University. He studied Business and Broadcasting, originally moving to Colorado to work in film and television. He developed programs for Food Network, HGTV, TLC and VH1 before following his passion for animals and science to the veterinary technology program at Bel-Rea. Following graduating with honors in 2011, Matthew worked in general practice, surgical specialty, and dermatology until he returned to fulfil his love of teaching new veterinary technicians. In his spare time Matthew enjoys volunteer work, attending live performance (music, theater), playing board games, and spending time with his wife and two children. Instructor since 2018.
