Job Outlook
Vet Tech Job Outlook

Veterinary Technicians are in demand! In fact, the Vet Tech career has a 20% “much faster than average” anticipated job growth rate (U.S. Department of Labor). This makes Veterinary Technology one of the fastest growing careers in America that typically requires an Associate’s Degree. There are already more than 120,000 Vet Tech jobs in the US alone at places like veterinary hospitals, animal shelters, research facilities, laboratories, zoos, and more.

The field of Veterinary Technology also offers a favorable annual salary when compared to fields with similar education requirements. Add to that all the time and money that can be saved with a focused 2-year program (as opposed to the the 8-12 years of schooling that Veterinarians undertake) and it becomes clear that pursuing Veterinary Technology is a great option when considering a career in veterinary medicine.
